Jax came to me all the way from Canada as a last resort before behaviorally euthanizing him. Jax was a severe resource guarder. Before coming to me, he was resource guarding his food, the bed/couch, spots around the house and really anything that was of value to him. His owners were no longer safe in their home with how severe his resource guarding had gotten. They went through one trainer before me that gave them poor advice that made the issue worse and led them down a path of confusion. Jax and his owners drove from Canada to Florida, where I am located to do a 3 week training program with him. He was an emergency behavior modification case. I worked heavily on addressing his underlying emotions to his triggers and his emotions around things of value to him, such as food. I put a solid obedience foundation on him to give his owners a way to manage him when he does get triggered which overall makes being around him much safer. Jax came to me in May of 2023, to this day Jax is absolutely thriving. He lives a beautiful life with amazing owners that now know how to work with him and couldn’t imagine a day without him. His issues now that used to be daily, are now very rare occasions.
